Alive and kicking!

You cannot imagine how much this picture means to me! This is my lovely boy Diego, a dog from the local animal shelter. When I went to China in August 2014 to study abroad, I was almost certain to never see him again, because even back then he was over 9 years of age, had cancer and athritis. But against all odds, when I cam back to Germany at the end of March, he was still alive and well! Of course his cancer ain't magically cured, but he is as lively as ever. Every day (well... three days a week since I can't go to the shelter more often) he gives me all his love, all his tail wags and I try to give him back as much as I can.

His chance of adoption is close to zero, but I will not lose hope for the perfect home to appear. He deserves to be loved by his very own family for at least his last few days, weeks, months or - if he is the luckiest dog in the world - years!
